Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Voice Chef, AI Audio processing, and how to get the best results.

What is Voice Chef?
Voice Chef is an advanced AI-powered audio workstation that allows creators to separate stems (vocals, drums, instruments), change voice timbers utilizing RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) technology, and master tracks professionally—all in the cloud. We simplify complex machine learning workflows into a single "Upload & Click" experience.
How does the AI Voice Conversion work?
We utilize state-of-the-art RVC models. When you upload a vocal track, our AI analyzes the pitch, intonation, and timbre. It then "maps" these features onto a target voice model (which you select), resynthesizing the audio to sound like the target character while retaining the original performance's emotion and rhythm.
Is the uploaded audio private?
Yes. Your files are processed on secure, isolated GPU instances. Input files are stored temporarily specifically for the processing job and are deleted from our processing servers shortly after completion. We do not use your uploads to train our public models without your explicit permission.
Can I use this for commercial purposes?
Technically, yes, you own the output of your creation. However, you must ensure that you own the rights to the *input* audio you create. If you use copyrighted songs (MR or Acapella) without permission, the resulting AI cover may still infringe on the original composition rights. Voice Chef provides the tool, but legal compliance regarding copyright is the user's responsibility.
Why did my conversion fail?
Common reasons include:
  • File too long: Extremely long files may time out.
  • No vocals detected: If you try to convert an instrumental track, the AI may fail effectively.
  • Format issues: We support MP3, WAV, FLAC. Corrupted files will cause errors.
If the error persists, check the Job ID in your history and contact support.
What is "Stem Separation"?
Stem separation uses models like Demucs/HTDEMUCS to unmix a compiled song back into its constituent tracks: Vocals, Bass, Drums, and Other instruments. This is incredibly useful for remixing, creating backing tracks (karaoke), or isolating vocals for conversion.
Do you offer refunds?
Since our service incurs high GPU costs per second of processing, we generally do not offer refunds for "change of mind." However, if a technical error on our side caused a failed job where you were charged credits but received no output, we will happily refund the credits to your account. Please contact support with your Job ID.
